5" Wedge Strip Quilt Instructions
(for photo's of the many variations of this pattern, go to www.stashtools.com under the Gallery tab)
1. Cut foundation pieces 5" square.
2. Center the wedge diagonally on the foundation piece and pin in place.
3. Place strips on either side, right sides together (any width strip is ok to use. I usually cut mine anywhere from 1" to 2" and if the strip is wider at one end that is OK too.); stitch down using a 1/4" seam; take to ironing board and press open. Repeat steps 2-3 until foundation piece is covered.
4. When foundation piece is covered, square it up to 5" square.
5. Sew four squares together, with the fat end of wedge to the center.
6. Continue steps 2-5 until you have enough squares to complete your quilt top.
7. Measure blocks (should be 9 1/2" square). Cut all of your blocks to the same size.
